Seth Looking To Finsh The Season Strong

It has been a crazy last couple of weeks of racing for Seth and the race team. A trip to Montana, ASCS Racing down at Grays Harbor and the Gold Cup last weekend in Chico California with the World of Outlaws.

There are two more weekends of racing remaining with the ASCS Northwest tour and with Seth’s 8th place finish at Elma two weeks ago, he sits seventh in the points standings with four more races remaining in the season. With Seth 122 points behind current points leader Jared Ridge the championship looks as though it is out of reach but a top 5 finish is still very much attainable with Seth only twenty five points outside of the top five.

Last weekend Seth traveled down to Chico California for the biggest race event on the West Coast the Gold Cup, which is a part of the World of Outlaws Tour. Over ninety cars turned out for the event which had two preliminary nights on Thursday and Friday. Seth showed last weekend just how much he has improved this year with a fantastic performance on the Friday night. Seth qualified for the A Main event and was running up in tenth position before he was taken out on the main straight away by California driver Bud Kaeding at the mid point of the race. “It was disappointing for the race to end for us like it did, I was pretty confident I could have gotten up to sixth or seventh the car was running great up until the wreck. Unfortunately Bud flipped and I just had no where else to go but to run off the track to try to save the car” said Seth after the race. With a beat up car which looked like something out a demolition derby race Seth toughed it out and finished in eighteenth position.

Saturday night was unfortunately ended early as a result of a power steering problem, but for Seth to make the A Main the night before against the best drivers in the country was a tremendous boost to his confidence with key races to come to finish off the season.

When you look back to the very first race of the season which was the Mini Gold Cup at Chico against the same drivers Seth finished fourth in the C-Main event. His improvement in the 410 class this year has been tremendous.

Seth will run in the 410 class for the last time this year up at the season ending Skagit Speedway championship night. Seth will be driving the Mike Anderson number 18 car for the last race of the season at Skagit before finishing off the year in the number 23 Corridor Electric Sprint car for the Fred Brownfield Memorial weekend races as well as the season ending ASCS races in Yakima.
