Seth Charges for Sixth Place Finish at Skagit 360 Nationals

seth-skagit-360nationalsAfter fighting his way to the A Main on Night One Seth and the team found themselves locking into the 40 Lap Saturday night feature event starting in Fifteenth position.

It was a long night for all the drivers locked into the A with only a few Hot laps providing some seat time before the Main event. With the dashes and the consolation races completed it was time for the Main Event.

As the flag went green Seth found himself on the low side of the track and was forced to hold his position for a couple of laps before he was able to shift to the top of the track. Laps five to ten where extremely productive as Seth was able to work his way up to Eleventh before the first caution of the night came out. As the race went back to green it turned into a dog fight as Travis Rilat, Travis Jacobsen, Mitch Olson and Seth all exchanged slide jobs with each other racing for position.

The laps ticked over but just when it looked as though things where going to run out to the checkered Brian Kirkpatrick who at the time was about to be lapped by the leaders lost control coming into turn three and then leader Travis Rutz was unable to miss him. He clipped the five damaging his radiator and his night was done. Second place Tim Crawley snuck through the wreck but had front wing damage, but Chad Hillier and Paul McMahon were not so fortunate and they to wrecked ending their night.

With four laps to go Seth had moved to sixth and had one last shot to get back around Rilat and a shot at a top five. The light went green and Seth moved alongside Rilat going into one and two on the bottom but just couldn’t quite make it stick. Rilat held a tight line for the last four laps and was able to hold onto fifth with Seth taking home six. Fortune landed in Tim Crawley’s lap as he took home the 10,000 pay day with locals Rick Fauver, Barry Martinez and Brock Lemely finishing behind Crawley.

For Seth it was a great weekend and we were extremely please with the hit out before the Knoxville Nationals. “I was really pleased with how we ran tonight. Forty laps is a long race and I felt we were always going forward during the race. We had some luck at the finish but we will take it. I’m really excited to get out to Knoxville for the Nationals this week and to continue on with the tour after that.”

The team will be leaving Washington on Monday moring and heading to Knoxville. Seth is scheduled to run on the Friday night preliminary night with the feature events being held on Saturday. All races will be broadcast on hoseheadsradio.com and racinboys.com

It has been great coming home to see everyone over the past month and the support we have received from everyone since we have been home has been overwhelming. Thanks so much.
