Opening Night Results From Skagit 360 Nationals

skagitAfter a two much improved weekends on the ASCS National Tour Seth headed to his old stomping ground in Skagit Speedway for opening night of the Skgait 360 Nationals. Fifty four cars where in attendance including ASCS National Tour reigning champion Jason Johnson, as well as past ASCS champions Travis Rilat, Tim Crawley and former World of Outlaws driver Paul McMahon.

Seth’s qualifying time of 12.227 was good enough for 22nd place which started him in 5th position for heat race number five. Single file racing on the bottom of the track made passing impossible and he had to settle for 5th place.

With the top three from each heat locked into the A Seth was forced into the B Main starting 10th with the top five advancing. As the race went Green Seth made is intentions quite clear that he was going to go to the top and he raced around the field picking up early positions. Seth piled the pressure on each lap and on lap fifteen he made the pass which put him in the last transfer spot. He quickly move up behind Roger Crockett and Travis Rilat and was about to pass to take third before the caution came out. As the race went green the leaders raced away and the top five stayed the same with Seth taking the last spot for the A Main.

Starting at thet back was always going to be tough but Seth did a terrific job scrapping from the opening lap. He worked the top and the bottom and managed to get as high as eleventh place at one stage but ultimately finished the race in Thirteenth place and accumulated enough points to be locked in for Saturday nights A Main.

“Considering where we started the night I am really happy to make the A for Saturday. I didn’t drive the car well in qualifying and in this format you are going to be on the back foot. The team did a great job to give me a great car all night long and I know we will be going forward on Saturday” said Seth after the race.

Night one was taken out by Jason Johnson with reigning 360 Nationals champion Travis Rutz finishing in second, Travis Jacobsen third.
