Mother Nature Ends Cowtown Nationals Right Before Main Event
Mother nature unfortunately reared its ugly head at the most inopportune time on Sunday afternoon. After producing one of his best heat race performances of the season coming from fourth to win his heat Seth found himself starting eighth for Sunday’s Cowtwon Sprint Nationals main event. After the conclusion of the B Mains a storm sweeped through and abruptly ended the afternoon’s racing leaving the team with thoughts of what might have been.
Saturday nights preliminary event saw Seth penalized two sports during his heat race as it was deemed he passed Donnie Ray Crawfod on a restart following a wreck earlier in his heat race. On the restart Seth was forced to move to Crawford’s right as his car slowed on the ensuring restart. To avoid slamming into the back of his car Seth moved to the high side of the track to avoid the collusion but the officials ruled he passed Crawford before the cone. Seth finished the heat in 3rd but the two spot penalty would result in Seth having to start eighth for B Main #1.
With Seth’s penalty enforced he now found himself starting in eight rather than on the front row for the first B Main feature. For 10 laps Seth pushed his 360 all the way getting himself to 3rd with one lap to go. As he flew into turns one and two Seth drove to the bottom of the track to take second away from Scott Reneau only to have Kyle Belim back in fourth drive over Seths right rear forcing him to check up and ending his chance of transferring. It was a frustrating result as the car was extremely fast and without the penalty Seth would have had no problem transferring to the Main event.
All in all there was much to be pleased about as the car is running extremely well and Seth is excited for his return to Devils Bowl this weekend for a two night ASCS National Tour show.
Way to go!
