Another Week, Another Win for Seth Bergman

After coming off his first victory of 2008 at Grays Harbor last week Seth and the team headed to Skagit Speedway to participate in the 360 series event. With a double header weekend scheduled for June 5th and June 6th with the ASCS the team decided to continue with the 360 as Seth took on Skagit Speedways local talent.

The night stated well for Seth as he timed in second fastest overall. Seth started his heat race from third position and was looking to take his 5th straight heat race victory.

Seth’s heat saw him up against Brock Lemley who was also coming off a strong performance from last weekends ASCS event. Lemley started on the pole for Seth’s heat race and he was never headed as he took out the heat. Seth was unable to get by the leaders and settled for third place.

For the main event Seth started in third position and it seemed as though his only real competition was going to be fellow ASCS competitor Lemley. As the race commenced it was Rod Perkins who took off to the early lead and like the week before Seth had the job of chasing down the leader as the laps ticked by. Seth was able to get by Alan Munn to take second during the middle section of the race and it looked as though Perkins was going to run away with the race. The race stayed under green until lap nineteen when leader Perkins hit the wall in turn four after a steering malfunction.

On the restart Seth took the lead and staved off a challenge from Brock Lemley who did everything he could to slide underneath the 23, but it was to no avail as Seth held on for the remaining five laps and took home his second victory of 2008.

The team heads to Oregon this week for round two of the ASCS Northwest Sprint Car Series. Friday nights racing is being held at Willamette Raceway in Lebanon Oregon, before wrapping up on Saturday night at Cottage Grove.

Videos from last Sunday’s inaugural ASCS Northwest weekend have been added to the Video section on the website.
